MarvelTone Distortion Sustainer

MarvelTone Distortion Sustainer by Targ and Dinner. Battery powered. Circa 1974. This Big Muff copy is hard to distinguish from it's counterpart and the housing is near identical as well. Electro-Harmonix lookalike sounds close but is a bit raspier in tone, though the tone setting can get right bassy too! Volume and sustain knob along with tone gives you a ton of sonic possibilities though all produce a decidedly 60's style that reminisces of Hendrix and Clapton, Page and Beck, and all the gods who utilized the stomp-box sustain in the heyday of rock!

Sound: near exact fuzz box as the Big Muff in identical housing. No pie sign though! Might be a bit raspier in mid-settings than the famous pie.
Look: classic rugged silver with round knobs and heavy-duty on/off switch.
Pros/cons: doesn't suck batteries, always produces the fuzz.
Desirability: unknown copy could score high in curiosity factor! Targ and Dinner?!
Over-all: Great stomp boxes never die.
